Q: How long will it take for me to receive my order after I place it?
Typically, you can expect your order to be shipped within 1-5 business days. This may be extended slightly during peak business times (new releases or subscriptions). You can view frequent, specific shipping updates in our Facebook Group.
Q: Where are you located?
We are centrally located in the beautiful city of Denver, Colorado and our opening our Lakewood retail shop in November 2022! Our products are manufactured in the USA, and we are happy to serve customers both domestically and internationally. You can read more about us in our About Us page.
Q: Why does my order say “pre-shipment”?
Pre-shipment means that we have created a shipping label for your order, and are working hard to get it out to you within 24 hours. It can also mean that the Post Office is in possession of your package but it hasn’t been scanned yet.
Q: How much do you charge for shipping?
We offer free shipping on domestic orders $40+. Otherwise, we charge $5 flat rate. Exceptions: $8 for Soak it Away and our Gentle UV/LED Lamp due to dimensions/weight. International orders can be placed via email: cs@diplomatiqnails.com
Q: Can I return my order?
We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee with all of our products. While we do not accept returns due due to the nature of our products, we will make sure you are taken care of. Product issues beyond 30 days will be taken care of in a manner solely at the discretion of the company on a case by case basis.
Q: How do I dip my nails?
The dip process is simple, and very quick to master. After lightly buffing your nails, apply a base coat and dip into your power. Brush off the excess and repeat 1 or 2 times depending on your desired coverage. Then activate the powder, which hardens it, so that you can buff and shape. After buffing and shaping, activate one more time and wipe with a lint free cloth. Apply the top coat quickly and wait about 1 minute, then apply a 2nd layer of top coat more thoroughly. Your nails will be completely dry and ready for normal use 2 minutes after your 2nd top coat. Some customers find a better shine with 1 layer of top coat, so you can have fun experimenting with what works for your nail chemistry!
Q: How do I remove my nail dip?
We recommend our proprietary Soak it Away. If you need to remove immediately, you can use 100% acetone (not nail polish remover). You will also need: a bowl with hot water, a paper towel, and a plastic baggy.
Simply heat the bowl of water in the microwave and add some acetone to the baggy with a small paper towel inside. Place the baggy in the bowl of water, and your hand in the baggy. Submerge your nails in the acetone and gently rub them on the paper towel. Be sure not to get any water inside of the baggy. Once your dip is removed, allow the acetone to evaporate by soaking it up with a paper towel. You can then safely dispose of the dry paper towel in your trash. Be sure to wash your hands immediately after removal.
Q: Why isn’t my color changer working?
Our color changers work by being introduced to different temperatures or UV exposure. Most of the time, our bodies run warmer, so that closer to the nailbed you should see the warm color, and the tips will be the cool color. Often times color changers work best with longer nails, but you can manipulate the temperature with water to see the full effect. For UV color changers, direct exposure to the sun or under a UV lamp is how you will see the change occur.
Q: How do I use foil dips and chunky glitters?
The best way is to lay your finger flat onto the dip, rather than dip your finger into the jar. Then you can lightly press down on the foil/glitter using a baggy or glove to make sure it’s in place! You can also use your finger, but it is worth noting that your finger may become a little sticky from the base coat.
Q: Why is my glow dip not glowing?
We recommended shaking your jar of glow powder before applying, as the glow pigment tends to be heavier and may sink to the bottom. Some users also “activate” their glow, or “charge” it by placing their nails under a lamp or cellphone flashlight.
Q: Why does my glitter look dull once my manicure is finished?
The common reason for this is buffing the last coat of glitter dip. We recommend buffing just before your final coat of powder, to keep from buffing off the most noticeable glitter. You can then safely dip one last time, and be sure to avoid your cuticle area.
Example: base, dip, base, dip, activator, buff, base, dip, activator, top coat, done!
Additionally, you can dip in Clear dip powder after your final glitter layer so that your buffing is only done on the Clear.
Q: Why do some colors look different after buffing?
Some colors, such as shimmers, glitters, or neons, take just a little extra T.L.C. Please see the above question regarding shimmers and glitters. As for neons, they are very saturated pigments, so little is used in the mixing process. This just means that it is easier to buff through the color than with our other solids. Simply top with clear dip as a barrier, or buff after 2 dips in the neon powder, followed by a 3rd unbuffed dip. This will allow for the bright color to remain consistent throughout the nail.
Q: Can I use gel liquids with Diplomatiq powders
Of course! Our recommended process for gel liquids is: base, dip, cure for 60 seconds (repeat 1-2 more times), 1st layer of top coat, cure for 30 seconds, 2nd layer of top coat, cure for 2 minutes.
Q: How do I avoid lifting?
Cuticles, cuticles, cuticles! Maintaining proper care with your nails and cuticles will help to avoid lifting. (Check out our product Take It Off). Another helpful tip is to outline your cuticle after each dip with a toothpick or orange stick.
Q: What are your Dip Liquids like?
Our dip liquids are of the highest salon quality standard. They are low/no odor, thin but slow-drying, and almost impossible to contaminate.
Q: Does the Butter Balm always have CBD in it?
By default, yes. If you would prefer to order without, you can add a note at checkout.
Q: Will the CBD in the Butter Balm show up on a drug test?
Nope! We use only the purest independently tested (99.99%) CBD which is guaranteed THC free!
Q: My Butter Balm is grainy, is this normal?
Our balms are creamy and smooth. If yours arrived grainy, it is due to fluctuations temperature in transit – causing improper melting and solidifying of the beeswax. To correct this, simply microwave in 20 second intervals until JUST melted, which will retain its beneficial properties. Then, properly solidify it by popping it immediately in the fridge. Many users like to keep it refrigerated for a cooling effect, but room temperature is great too!
